Welcome to Queen Mary's Grammar School, or QMGS as it is most commonly known.
The sixth form at QMGS, an outstanding selective boys' school with 1090 enrolled students, is coed.
It was established in 1554 in Walsall, an industrial town eight miles north of Birmingham, making it one of the nation's oldest schools.
After converting to a single academy in 2011, QMGS joined four other Walsall schools as a founding member of the Mercian Multi-Academy Trust in 2018.
In addition to adhering to the QMGS Pastoral Charter, life at the school reflects the four pillars of QMGS: "Academic in Purpose," "International in Outlook," "Generous in Approach," and "Enterprising in Spirit."
Along with academic brilliance, we provide a vast array of co-curricular activities.
The school has been ranked among the top 100 secondary schools in the UK for playing cricket by the Cricketer magazine. It is a member of the IOE's Mandarin Excellence Program.
Our motto, "Quas dederis solas semper habebis opes," which means "It is what you give that you will keep as eternal riches," sums up the school community's immense strength and the reason we have attracted national notice for our emphasis on mental health.
