Be yourself, show consideration for others, and never discriminate, is what we always tell our students at Barr Beacon. We have more opportunity than normal to learn about the achievements black people have made to the globe during Black History Month. Valerie from Year 11 chose four historical personalities that are occasionally overlooked. Did you have any idea who they were or what they accomplished to advance society? We are gaining a better grasp of some of the pressures black people still experience in contemporary society through assemblies. We are constantly motivated to make sure everyone, whatever their qualities, knows it's alright to be proud of who they are.
