As I begin my fifth year as Head of the Gateway Academy, it gives me the utmost joy to work with the young people of Chadwell-St. Mary and Tilbury every day.
We place a high value on our students' achievement, and it is impressive how many of them have gone on to enrol in prestigious colleges and universities including Cambridge University, Kings College London, Brunel University, Queen Mary's College, and The London School of Contemporary Dance.
We are proud of each and every one of our students, and we wish our former Year 11 pupils the best of luck as they pursue their future endeavours this academic year.
Their remarkable GCSE results cap off a successful year for The Gateway Academy, which included winning the highly coveted Inclusion Center of Excellence Award, which recognised the best student attendance rates in the Academy's history among other elements of academy life.
In March 2019, we also celebrated our positive Ofsted rating, which was highly appreciated for the leadership and the students' preparation for the following level of school or career.
The Gateway Grammar Stream has given more capable students the encouragement and assistance they need to perform to the best of their abilities.
Abiaz Afzal, the top performer in his class last year, received a Grade 9 in each of the nine GCSE courses he was required to take.
In order to continue to "Improve Upon Our Best," achieve excellence in everything we do, and "offer everyone opportunities to develop as high-achieving, resilient, healthy, aspirational, caring, and fulfilled members of our society," I look forward to working with the students, staff, parents, Governors, and community during the 2019–2020 academic year.

Fantastic Academy. After visiting numerous schools for my son. I chose this Academy based on their results but also on the foreword thinking leadership team that we met on one of their open days. They also allow parents to tour the school whilst school is on to see how the Academy performs. Since my son has been at the Academy, he has made a lot of friends. Loves the school and his lessons.
