Hello, my name is Karl Landrum, and I serve as the Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School's chair of governors. We are incredibly proud of Sacred Heart and the tremendous sense of community that contributes to this school's success as governors. Children learn in this school in a wonderful way, both in terms of what they need to study to meet the requirements of the curriculum and, more broadly, in terms of learning about life. Our school's mission statement outlines how we think we develop and nurture each child in our care. Through informative field trips, guest speakers in the classroom, and a variety of interesting activities, we support this process by enhancing their experiences at every stage. Every child should strive to reach his or her full potential. Our kids behave in a polite, considerate, and, most importantly, learning-focused manner around school. With all of this, Sacred Heart is a wonderful environment for kids, parents and carers, visitors, employees, and governors. The governing board is a group of persons in charge of all facets of school life, including what is taught, who is hired to teach it, and the setting in which it is done. Governors do do have a lot of duties, but they don't carry them out on their own. The responsibilities for judgements made and all decisions made by the governor are corporate. Governors participate on committees. Every subcommittee holds a meeting once a term, which is followed by a full governors meeting that is open to all governors. We are all here to make sure that your children have an outstanding education and grow socially, emotionally, spiritually, and academically. The position of a governor can be highly varied, difficult, and rewarding.
