We are committed about fostering and directing the children's moral and social development at Thornton Hough Primary School. We have introduced the kids to a methodology termed "values-based education" this academic year. To give the kids a common vocabulary and knowledge of significant good human qualities like respect, honesty, resilience, and tolerance, the approach complements our 7 Golden Rules. Adults are always urged to set a good example for the ideals. The principles not only pervade the entire curriculum but are also addressed explicitly in lessons and assemblies. We think that by doing this, a strong learning environment is created that improves academic performance and fosters in students lifelong interpersonal and social skills. We urge kids to think about these ideals so they can acquire the knowledge, abilities, and attitudes necessary to become reflective learners and mature into stable, literate, and civic people. We have selected 22 basic principles as a school to teach the kids throughout the course of a two-year cycle. These values are displayed in the table below along with their placement throughout the year. Please be aware that there will be a "Values Newsletter" that will be distributed following the introduction of a value to the kids. These are also available further down this page and are emailed to parents and guardians.
