From the Ormiston Forge Academy
In the Old Hill neighbourhood of Cradley Heath, West Midlands, England, there is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status called Ormiston Forge Academy (previously Heathfield Foundation Technology College and Heathfield High School). When two neighbourhood schools—Cradley Heath Secondary School in Cradley Heath's Lomey Town neighbourhood and Macefield Secondary School in Old Hill—merged, Heathfield High School was created. Cradley Heath and Macefield, the names of the two schools, were combined to create the name of the institution. The school was converted to an Academy on January 1, 2012, under the sponsorship of Ormiston Academies Trust. Ormiston Forge Academy was the new name given to the institution. Students who live in Sandwell's Cradley Heath, Old Hill, and Rowley Regis neighbourhoods are currently served by the academy. The Academy features a sizable learning infrastructure that gives kids and the neighbourhood access to tools and resources. Around 1,600 students, ranging in age from 11 to 19, attend the academy, including a Sixth Form that offers academic continuity and a strong sense of family. Both in March 2016 and in October 2019, Ofsted gave the Academy a Good rating.
