Children aged 2 to 11 are taught in the Primary Community Special School known as Lady Zia Wernher. Every student at the institution struggles with learning to a severe or deep degree. Physical handicap, autism spectrum disorder, and complex medical demands are examples of additional needs. The main goal of Lady Zia Wernher School is to give every child the opportunity to enjoy learning, advance, and succeed in all area of their education. Families play a critical role in a child's development and successful learning; this is most effective when the school, professionals, and families collaborate. Our experienced, creative and skillful staff ensure the children access a rich and varied curriculum and develop their skills in the key aspects of communication, cognition, social and life skills, well-being and movement. Strategies and environments used to support learning, include Makaton, PECS, a therapeutic approach of de-escalation, creative arts, multi-sensory environments, eating programmes and rebound therapy.
