From the Ecole Jeannine Manuel
In 1954, Jeannine Manuel established the Ecole Active Bilingue with the goal of fostering global understanding through bilingual education beginning in the early childhood years. She started off by asserting that "learning a foreign language is vital in in of itself; it is also a way to better understand others and to be able to think like themit allows access to the globe." With 3,250 pupils from over 80 different countries in Paris and Lille, Ecole Jeannine Manuel has grown to be the largest non-denominational independent school in France since its inception 65 years ago. Twenty thousand graduates from Ecole Jeannine Manuel today serve as witnesses to the calibre of the education they received as well as the openness and adaptability that were fostered there, wherever they may reside, study, or work in the globe.
