Children between the ages of 3 and 11 attend the community primary and nursery school.
The first council school to be built in Cheshire was Worthington Primary School, which opened its doors in 1905.
But in 2013, it was time to say goodbye to our old structure, and in September of that year, we started a new chapter in the history of the school with the opening of our stunning new facility.
It required a year and a half to plan and then construct on property that was already used for a school.
The brick-built school has twelve main-school classes, one nursery class, two additional Early Years courses, three Key Stage One classes, and six Key Stage Two classes.
The school provides a wide variety of fun clubs before, during, and after school, as well as groups over the breaks.
We also offer "wrap around" care starting at 7.45 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. through our collaboration with "Kid's Collective," a division of the Elmscott Group, during each school day.
Kid's Collective is housed in our renovated annexe and is entirely self-contained with kitchen and restroom amenities.
The school's grounds are large, and one of them features an outdoor classroom that the kids built with PTA funding.
For anyone who might be interested, we released a book about the history of our school in 2017 and it was permanently memorialised.
The book chronicles the life and times of this local monument and was meticulously researched by the author, Christopher King, and beautifully drawn by Rob Lenihan.
