In order to implement a "Values Based Education" at Stamford Green, our school's community of parents, teachers, and students collaborated with the world-renowned education consultant Dr. Neil Hawkes in September 2008. Values education is not a subject to be included in the curriculum; rather, it is an educational concept that serves as the foundation for how we organise ourselves by supporting wholesome human values, healthy interpersonal connections, and excellent teaching and learning. The decision-making process for the values we would adopt and how we would implement them in our school encompassed all parties. As a "Values"-based school, our mission is to advance an educational philosophy that values oneself, others, and the environment by taking into account fundamental moral values that shape behaviour. This strategy fosters the improvement of academic standards while assisting students in growing a strong sense of self and respect for others. With parents, we collaborate closely. The school bulletin and the school website remind parents of the new "Value of the Month." The new "Value" is introduced during whole school assemblies, and values posters are posted inside and outside of each classroom. Additionally, there is a sizable "Value of the Month" display board in the assembly hall that is frequently referred to. Although teachers will talk about the new Value during PSHCE courses, the main focus is on incorporating the values into routine teaching and learning so that they are reinforced at home. Being a "Values Based School" has, in our opinion, been a huge success. Parents, teachers, and people outside the school have observed a significant improvement in the behaviour, attitudes, and comprehension of the students since the programme began. We have 22 Values with a two-year rolling programme that vary each month.
