To create a joyful and nurturing learning and working environment where each student can grow in self-respect and self-control and where each member of the school community is respected individually.
to give students the best chance of success in public exams by providing a challenging, diverse, and balanced curriculum.
to inspire students to collaborate and actively take part in both classroom and community life.
Debenham High School teachers and staff members are proud of their kids and demand pride in everything they accomplish.
Students are expected to put in a lot of effort, give it their all, and participate in extracurricular activities.
We strive to maintain a polished and well-equipped setting that promotes learning.
Students hone their skills both inside and outside the classroom.
For this reason, Debenham High School offers a variety of extracurricular learning activities.
At Debenham High School, every student has the potential to show maturity and grow in their leadership abilities.
House Captains and Year 11 prefects are highly regarded and actively involved throughout the school.
We do, however, think that there are other students who can step up to the plate besides those in year 11: there is already a system in place for peer mentors from year 9 to support Year 7 students during their first year of school; literacy leaders assist younger students with their reading and writing; sports leaders supervise activities for elementary school students; and student year leaders conduct assemblies and plan charitable events.
At Debenham, we think that students may benefit greatly from learning from their teachers and from one another.
We are aware that early planning is essential for pupils to realise their highest potential.
To provide a smooth transition to Debenham High School, we work closely with our feeder elementary schools.
Year 7 students begin the school year in September with a solid understanding of the school and one another thanks to a thorough liaison programme that includes taster lessons, science change days, joint music events, and athletics festivals.
It is an increasingly competitive world and we are committed to ensuring that students leave us with an excellent academic profile that will enable them to achieve and enjoy success in their future careers.
We consistently rank among the top schools according on test results.
For the last two years we have been recognised by the Department for Education as one of the top one hundred performing schools in the Country.

A highly nurturing environment where children are supported in their learning. Teachers are enthusiastic and there is a lot of pride in the school. Half termly milestones prepare the children for exams without over burdening them. Overall we feel very privileged to have this school. It feels more like an independent education than a state school. Highly recommend.
Fabulous school, excellent teachers who care about all the pupils, excellent communication with parents, brilliant GCSE results.
