From the De Lisle College Loughborough Leicestershire
De Lisle College was established in 1959 with the goal of serving the Catholic communities in north Leicestershire.
We endeavour to develop young people who respect the dignity of every human existence, are dedicated to working for the common good, and are able to find meaning and contentment in their lives, nourished by a growing sense of spirituality, via the integration of Gospel values into the fabric of school life.
All of our students will receive a demanding liberal arts education from us, and we will do it by incorporating the best ideas and arguments from the humanities and sciences.
We believe that all young people have a right to understand the historical events that have shaped society, to appreciate the physical and social geography of our world, to be able to apply scientific insights to the wonders of the universe, and to have a working knowledge of languages other than English. These rights go beyond simply being fully literate and numerate when they leave school.
We think that every student at De Lisle College has a right to a rigorous, knowledge-based education that is not the exclusive domain of a scholarly elite.
As a Catholic school, it is our goal to offer a dynamic environment where all students are challenged to discover and fully develop their God-given gifts.
Quod justum, non quod utile, our school's motto, perfectly captures the spirit of De Lisle College.
We appreciate you visiting our website, which, we hope, will give you a better understanding of what it's like to live at De Lisle College.
