From the Brookfield Primary School
We revised our vision statement at the beginning of 2015 with the assistance of employees, parents, and governors.
We intend to utilise it to map our journey over the coming years and to serve as inspiration for additional advancements and improvements because it symbolises our overarching goals, ethos, and values.
At Brookfield, we take pride in fostering exceptional teaching and learning by having the highest standards for each of our students and getting to know them well.
We encourage a culture of respect and empathy, where diversity is appreciated and celebrated both within the school and in the larger community, in order to build an inclusive school where everyone can succeed, regardless of their background.
At Brookfield, excellent education is a top priority. Inspiring, encouraging, and successful teaching and learning are supported by the relationships between staff and students.
Our goal is for every child to graduate from Brookfield as an independent student who has self-confidence and a lifelong respect for others.
We hope to instil a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime and a solid foundation for future success.
Additionally, in March 2015, with the assistance of employees, parents, and governors, our basic principles were revised.
Being a Silver Rights Respecting School makes Brookfield very proud.
In practise, this means that we are dedicated to making the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) the centre of our ethos and culture in order to enhance wellbeing and fully develop each child's gifts and abilities.
In every decision we make, the child's best interests come first.
As a result of such an approach, kids gain a better sense of security and confidence as well as a knowledge of global issues, enabling them to take the next step in promoting the rights of kids everywhere through advocacy and awareness-raising.
A community where children's rights are learnt, taught, practised, respected, safeguarded, and promoted is referred to as a rights-respecting school.
Children at Brookfield learn about how the concept of rights has evolved, why governments joined forces to establish a set of rights, and how children's rights are currently upheld and/or ignored around the world by integrating it into learning across the curriculum.
Our approach to behaviour control is also shaped by being a rights-respecting school.
Children discover that a community as a whole benefits from mutually respected rights.
The Rights Ambassadors' job is crucial to advancing rights at Brookfield.
Each year, students in Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to apply to become a Rights Ambassador. Those selected support the school's efforts to foster a sense of community, respect, and responsibility that encourages students to be active, informed citizens who work to create a bright future for all.
