From the Blackfriars Academy
Welcome to Blackfriars Academy, a unique learning environment where each student is respected for who they are as a unique individual. As a team, we strive to deliver a tailored education that removes obstacles to learning and prepares kids for the next phase of their lives. We achieve this in collaboration with parents and carers. About 100 students between the ages of 11 and 16 make up our learning community, which also includes more than 60 staff members. We are all committed to helping students with profound and complex, moderate or severe learning needs, and profound and complex needs reach their full potential, whether that be by earning BTECs and passing GCSEs, being able to use public transportation independently, having the vocabulary to make straightforward decisions, or having better communication skills. We stand out because we offer a superior educational experience for a wide range of requirements in a nurturing and supportive environment where kids thrive in our inclusive setting. The guiding principle that guides all we do at our academy is that students learn best when they feel respected, when their learning hurdles are recognised and addressed, when learning is engaging and creative, and when they are actively involved in their educational process. In order to satisfy the requirements of our students, our team of incredibly dedicated and trained employees collaborates with medical professionals, social service organisations, speech therapists, physiotherapists, and other professionals.
