From the Wayland Academy
Facebook is already "ancient," in fact, it is older than our Year 7 children who started at the Academy in September.
Although young people have the world at their fingertips, they also need new skill sets if they are to live and achieve in a setting that is always changing.
Similar to the digital world, education is still evolving quickly thanks to the addition of new standards and performance criteria.
At Wayland Academy Norfolk, we take a deliberate approach to change rather than looking for fast fixes or automatic reactions.
At the Academy, we have a firm understanding of our core values: prioritising students, facilitating achievement, and developing crucial life skills.
Innovation is needed for all of this from students, instructors, and leaders.
Students must be prepared to change as the world around them does, just like the Academy.
We must help pupils understand that creativity is not dependent on technology, though.
This method will assist in preparing students for the most recent curriculum revisions, which demand that they have a deeper comprehension of a subject than ever.
We think that only if children feel comfortable, secure, and free to explore will they be able to realise their full potential.
Our main goal is to provide a setting where students may concentrate on their top goals, such as learning, making friends, and becoming ready for life after the Academy.
We encourage this investigation by providing a variety of after-school clubs, frequent holiday review sessions, and skill-building activities. We also collaborate with business and industry to foster imaginative thinking and planning.
Knowing each individual student is the cornerstone of what we do since it is our responsibility to support and inspire them as they develop during their time at Wayland Academy Norfolk.
We push pupils to take charge of their own actions and make independent decisions.
We are constantly available to help our students, no matter what their requirements may be, even though we are conscious that this is a process of trial and error.
All of our students are subject to clear and high expectations from us.
Along with other skilled experts, our SAFE team also supports and helps our families and their kids.
Our mission is to create learning that enables students to Innovate, Discover, Explore and Activate, underpinned by our core value of Improving Life Chances Through Education.
