From the Vermont School
A small special school in Southampton called Vermont serves youngsters with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges between the ages of 7 and 11. All of our early children exhibit challenging behaviour, and numerous associated diseases and conditions, such ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and attachment issues, are possible. There is an education, health, and care plan for every child. We take great pride in our "Vermont Family." Everyone in the school community supports everyone, including both children and adults. Through a variety of real-world experiences and practical, hands-on activities, we build a sense of love for learning in our students and advocate a child-centered approach to help them become autonomous learners. We encourage social and emotional well-being by regularly engaging in social skills exercises, and we also offer ELSA support to help our kids build resilience and coping mechanisms. To help our kids deal with a variety of situations and prepare them for the future, we actively work to teach new behavioural skills. Currently, each of our four sessions has ten students and four highly qualified adults (a teacher and three teaching assistants). They work closely with parents and outside organisations to ensure they understand the daily needs and experiences of each of our children, enabling them to make modifications accordingly. They create fantastic role models and expectations for behaviour. We sincerely hope you enjoy browsing our website and discover any information you're looking for. Any questions you may have can be directed to the school directly.
