The Trafalgar School at Downton is an over-subscribed, co-educational, 11-16 comprehensive academy in the village of Downton, on the edge of the New Forest. Our students travel from a wide geographical area to attend Trafalgar, both within and outside of our designated admission area which extends as far as Bishopstone to the West, Whiteparish to the East, the southern edge of Salisbury to the North and Nomansland to the South. We now have 754 pupils enrolled in our 5 form entry school. The school now has more students than it did five years ago, when there were just 520 of them. The five Houses that make up our completely embedded House system are Breamore, Clarendon, Longford, Pembroke, and Radnor. Along with Wyvern College and St Edmund's Girls' School, The Trafalgar School was one of the founding institutions of the Magna Learning Partnership.

Trafalgar balances high expectations with a kind and caring ethos. Each individual has the opportunity to thrive, although it must be noted that there is a significant cohort of disruptive students who lack parental or family support for their education. Mr Taylor has enforced uniform and behavioural standards in a way that supports the expectations of the school. Communication with parents is superb and Mrs Faulkner is an exceptional deputy head whose focus on ethos...
Brilliant for SEN and Artistic leaning kids. Music program, Art, Drama brilliant! Staff are priceless, great facilities and this is an absolute gem for supp in other areas English Maths. Kids strengths always prioritised. Be it sport, music, or Maths Can’t praise this school highly enough. 10 🌟
