At Thomas Alleyne's High School, which is a member of the Uttoxeter Learning Trust, we are dedicated to making sure that our children receive the best possible education so that they can reach their full potential as people.
Our honour and great duty in having the chance to educate other people's kids is to make sure that we give your sons and daughters the opportunities they need to be successful and happy in the future.
Our school's mission statement, Progress, Opportunity, and Individuality, is built around this responsibility.
We provide pupils with a wide-ranging curriculum that also includes a robust extracurricular programme.
We are dedicated about ensuring that every person reaches their full potential and can contribute uniquely to the school community.
Our founder, Thomas Alleyne, passed away in 1558.
He established three schools in his will because he thought it was important to encourage the development of education.
We think that every young person has the ability to succeed, and it is our job to help them get there.
I hope your child will embrace and take advantage of all the opportunities provided by our school.
I hope they will take advantage of these chances to grow in self-awareness and establish themselves as self-assured members of our society who are eager to lead and contribute.
I will advise them to start by thinking about how they might support Thomas Alleyne's legacy and their community.
Once we work to help them build the resilience they will need as they leave our school, I will urge them to think about what duty means to them.
Students in Thomas Alleyne's classes achieved good progress in their GCSEs this summer across our wide-ranging and well-rounded curriculum.
Amazing achievements were achieved by many kids, with 11 achieving at least four courses in Grade 9.
Thomas Alleyne's High School is the fourth-best performing institution in Staffordshire and Derbyshire according to the Progress 8 score of +0.40.
The sixth form had a significant percentage of students who excelled in their A-level exams, with 60% of pupils earning three A-levels with grades A*-C and 31% earning three with A*-B. Most importantly, students were once again able to earn top university positions and Higher Apprenticeships thanks to the 98% pass rate.
Academic success is important in our school, however along with it, we are passionate in providing opportunities to ensure students have the chance to develop skills in teamwork, independence, resilience and creativity.
This summer, over 70 community minded Year 11 students took part in the National Citizenship project, spending time in a local university, raising significant amounts for charity and completing a range of outdoor activities.
In Athletics, we proudly cheered on one of our students as he qualified for the national championships at 100m and 200m, whilst another Alleyne's student represented Staffordshire at Javelin.
At a district level, we had students win the 800m, long jump and the 300m. Trampoline team champions from East Staffordshire, with one student taking first place individually.
The Drama team presented a challenging and innovative interpretation of 'The Woman in Black' and the music students brought the year to a close with their wonderful and varied celebration of music.
Additionally, more than 100 students utilised the chance to finish their trips the previous year.
The Duke of Edinburgh expeditions for a number of these students have now been successfully completed at the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels.
In conclusion, I hope that Thomas Alleyne's gives our students the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
In 2018 GCSE results showed students at Thomas Alleyne's High School have, for 4 years in a row, exceeded county and national averages.
