From the School
The community is important to Temple Learning Academy, and it holds the community close to its heart. The Red Kite Learning Trust collaborates with Temple Learning Academy. In September 2015, the academy welcomed 42 Reception Learners. In September 2017 we welcomed our first Year 7 intake and although small we will grow quite rapidly over the coming years. In order to meet our needs for this year and the following year, we renovated and expanded the abandoned recreation centre where we opened. The 10.7 million development project for the site and grounds was finished in August 2017. This included a 3 storey teaching block with classrooms and science labs, kitchens and dining areas, sports halls, a library, meeting spaces, offices, computer rooms, technology rooms, art studios, playgrounds and sports pitches. We take great pride in being one of Leeds' first all-through schools to be housed on the same campus. We see this as a wonderful opportunity for staff to really get to know pupils, share specialist skills and knowledge, and work with the community to get the best possible outcomes for everyone. In a community where other facilities are disappearing we plan to be at the heart still working for change and developing that culture and ambition in everyone. In addition to the Red Kite Learning Trust, a group of knowledgeable Governors supports us and keeps us on our toes. In the website's Governor section, you can read more about them. We sincerely hope you can discover whatever you need to know. You can request paper copies of materials by writing to [email protected].

There is a positive culture of respect between staff, children, and pupils.

Good work is done to develop pupils' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural awareness, and effective support is provided through nurture groups.

The nurture groups are high-quality and effective.

Early years children make a good start in a caring, safe, and happy environment, but opportunities for choice and independence are limited.

Attendance is improving but some pupils are absent too often, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Robust systems are in place to track pupil progress and check the quality of teaching, but further development is needed as the school grows.
