From the Story Wood School
Welcome to the Story Wood School website, which provides a wealth of valuable information for parents and visitors as well as a fantastic glimpse into the work and opportunities available to students at our school.
At Story Wood School, we put the children at the centre of everything we do and every choice we make to make sure they feel secure, are content, are self-assured, and that the options offered to them are pertinent to them both now and in the future.
As a "Thrive" school, we give our students a lot of emotional support to make sure they are prepared to study. We appreciate every child's wellbeing and understand that for certain kids, building their emotional resilience might be a top priority.
Our school's name, Story Wood, was decided upon in 2011 by our students, who also selected it since their favourite part of the school was and still is the forested area used for Forest School.
We think it's crucial that our kids receive a well-rounded education where unique abilities can be discovered, fostered, and encouraged so that every kid can succeed, no matter how tiny it may appear, and reach their full potential.
Children are reminded to approach their study with a "growth mind frame," thinking they can succeed, by our motto, "sowing the seeds of success."
More information on what this means for us is provided in our vision statement.
Through the Breakfast Club, High Achievers (our after-school club), and a variety of extracurricular groups, our school extends the school day and provides enrichment activities that support the creative curriculum.
A passionate, committed, and inspiring staff drives Story Wood to set high standards in everything we do.
We put a lot of effort into ensuring that instructors are well-prepared, supported, and always learning and enhancing how we teach in order to challenge our students because we feel that high quality teaching is a vital component of our success.
British values serve as the foundation of Story Wood School, and our ethos welcomes all members of the school community where we are all treated equally.
