Stafford Grammar School Reviews
4.7 (19 reviews)
It would appear that the school manipulate reviews. Previously I’ve left very honest reviews out our poor experience. Disappointed they were removed.
As a parent of two children who joined Stafford Grammar School's Year 7 & 8 for school year 2024-2025, I couldn't be happier with the experience so far. Both of my children are thriving academically and socially, and they genuinely enjoy being part of the school community. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters both academic excellence and personal growth. The teachers are highly dedicated and approachable, creating a positive atmosphere for...
Whoever is leaving these negative reviews, you are clearly out to sabotage school! This is evident by the constant influx in a short space of time and language being used. Please find something else to do with your time, instead of spoiling a very special environment for others. ,
We have two children at this school, who began their journey in the Prep. We are delighted with the school and the children enjoy their time here very much, which is the most important thing to us. Education wise they are doing well and are supported as necessary. There have been a couple of ‘teenage’ hiccups along the way of course, which have been addressed in a supportive manner by Mr Pietrek and teachers. Both...
I suspect some of these comments have been written by a parent with a vendetta against the school. If you have reached the point of meeting with the governors and still can't agree then I think you may have to accept that this isn't the right school for your child. It may be understandable to take issue with an individual but surely all of the senior teachers and the governors can't all be in the...
Is this really an appropriate way to talk about a person? Talk about bullying. If you're not happy about the school, then write to the Governors. Don't drag the poor man through the dirt from the safety of your computer.
I do feel the negative comments are unjustified. The Leadership of the school is excellent and supportive towards pupils, parents and staff. If a pupil causes disruption on a regular basis in a mainstream school then eventually they would be excluded. Since Mr Pietrek has been in post the school have removed pupils who caused disruption and current parents and pupils have all noticed a difference. An excellent wellbeing centre for pupils who may be...
Our children are always happy to go to school, they are really proud of being pupils there and would never dream of leaving. They have grown in confidence over the last few years and have joined lots of clubs and had many new experiences. The teachers are very positive and our children have made great progress. We don't have any regrets.
Both of my children attend the school and they are really happy. They joined the Prep school and the Grammar school a couple of years ago and have really settled. They really like the teachers, have joined a range of clubs between them and have made friends. They have both grown in confidence and are making good progress. My eldest has really grown in maturity and seems to have made massive gains in learning over...
Criticisms about the headmaster focusing on political issues, like VAT policies, are misguided. His advocacy is a vital step to protect families from rising costs and preserve the school’s ability to offer high-quality education. Far from neglecting the school’s internal affairs, this is a proactive measure to secure the school’s future. To label Stafford Grammar as a “1/5 star” institution reflects an incredibly privileged perspective. A quick visit to local state schools —where music programs...
We have been at the school for several years and have nothing but praise. We don't recognise the negative comments and would question the motive behind them. The Headmaster is incredibly approachable, having established a weekly drop in coffee morning and regular newsletters. The school continues to excell with the best academic results in Staffordshire. The music department is incredible, winning all the top accolades available at local and national level. Within sport, pupils again...
Having been at Stafford Grammar for nine years, I can confidently say the negative reviews do not reflect the reality of this school. My time here has been incredibly positive. The opportunities I’ve had in sports, music, drama productions, and clubs have made me the well-rounded individual I am today, and I’ll always cherish the memories I’ve made. The teachers are supportive and dedicated, and the school’s leadership team is proactive in addressing issues effectively....
I have two children at Stafford Grammar School, one with mild special needs. My experience here has been nothing short of outstanding, with targeted tailored teaching, excellent pastoral support and a real family feel to the whole school. Both of my children knew as soon as they walked round on their first visit that they wanted to join and have honestly happily gone in every day since. Reading previous reviews, I can't say that I...
I'm a proud parent of two children who have thrived at Stafford Grammar School from Prep to A Levels. The excellent pastoral support, discipline, and dedicated teachers have fostered their good manners and diverse talents. Wrap-around care has been stellar, and they've excelled in music and LAMDA. Teachers go above and beyond, offering extra GCSE support. Scholarships showcase the school's commitment to nurturing talent. My kids are motivated, happy, and well-fed thanks to the wonderful...
We have two children at Stafford Prep who both absolutely love coming to school. The care of the staff is outstanding and it really feels like each child matters. The curriculum helps our children develop as young people and there are plenty of extra-curricular opportunities (tennis, Lamda, art club to name a few) for children to engage in. The school organises many events throughout the year to celebrate the success of our children, such as...

Both of my children are Stafford Grammar School pupils and our experience has been incredibly positive. The opportunties available are excellent, especially music, sport and drama. Our daughter is excelling musically and as a consequence she has grown in confidence. Our son is able to be himself without judgement and he is a keen sports person as well as keen to get involved in drama. He also participates in LAMDA lessons. Both are excelling academically...
My son started at Stafford Grammar School this year, and was at Stafford Preparatory School (on the same site as the Grammar with many crossovers) from October 2022. I have been delighted with his development at the school, both socially and academically. It’s a small school with, in my experience, a friendly and welcoming approach. The Prep School felt like a big family. The Grammar School has a strong focus on music, sport and drama....
Our experience at Stafford Grammar school has been amazing. My children previously went to an outstanding state school but lacked confidence and, being quieter children, were just lost in the huge class sizes. They have been totally transformed since starting at the SGS. They are now happy, confident, independent learners. The staff are fantastic - nothing is too much trouble - and you can reach out to them any time. Pastoral care is excellent and...
