We encourage the kids to make new friends and engage in activities with them to learn about one another's interests. The second value we discuss at St. Paul's Infant School is "safety." We discuss ways to keep others safe as well as how to keep oneself safe, including online. All of our students at St. Paul's are encouraged to be "Resilient," whether it be in their academic or social experiences. In order to raise our kids to be independent learners, resilience is crucial. The theme of "growth and change" is all about how we have changed and evolved throughout the course of the year or while attending school. We reflect on the moments when we were unable to perform something and discuss how we have developed to be able to do it now. We can discuss how the environment around us is changing since this value also appears at the start of spring. Respect is an essential life trait that we like to promote in our children. At St. Paul's, the adults consistently exhibit respect for one another and inspire the kids to follow suit. A fantastic way to wrap up the academic year is with the value of "Aspiration." It encourages kids to set high standards for themselves and to dream big. Aspiration is a great word to teach our young children, it gets them to think about what they aspire to be and to listen to other peoples aspirations.
