Typically, teaching takes place in mixed-age courses with varying-sized year groups. To maintain ideal class sizes, arrangements are variable, and some year groups may be taught separately as a small class. The newer part of our school which was built in 1966, houses two Key Stage 1 classrooms (Reception, Years 1 & 2), a large, well-equipped sports hall, a library built in the Summer of 2011, school and Head's office, staff room and food technology area. The remaining classes—Years 3, 4, and 5—are divided across two classrooms in the school's older wing. Year 6 is housed in our brand-new modular structure, which also includes an intervention room that the kids have dubbed "The Potting Shed." A visualiser, an interactive white board or display, and computers connected to the school network and the internet are all present in every classroom. A bank of Google Chromebooks that may be utilised wirelessly throughout the campus has been purchased by the school. Both the Key Stage 1 and two Key Stage 2 classes have been renovated over recent years and the Key Stage 1 toilet and cloakroom area has had a total transformation over the Summer of 2013. The School Council renamed the courses in June 2013 to give each base a name and a connection to the hamlet. From September 2013, the classes are: Reception/Year1: Churchwell; Year 1/2: Underdown Hollow; Year 3/4: Five Bridges; Year 4/5: Great Western and Year 6: Silverlake. Outside there are both grass and hard play areas, a KS1 covered activity area, a spritual garden, wild garden, vegetable garden and a pond (used in science lessons). We also have a PTA-maintained outdoor classroom on the property. A sizable sports field that is used for athletics and environmental education is located not far from our school.
