From the St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary School
In October 2007, the brand-new St. Mary of the Angels school building was inaugurated. The original Pope Pius XII R.C. Primary School was, of course, the old school that once stood on the location before that. In order to better reflect our affiliation with the parish and church in our community, we changed our name to St. Mary of the Angels in 2003. In its 45-year history, the school has only had three headteachers: Mr. O'Connell, Mr. Gajewski, and the current headteacher, Mr. Hughes. Over the next months, we will display archival images of the school, including newspaper articles about its original 1971 debut. Here are some scenes from the past. Are you in them? And do any of the kids, parents, or staff members look familiar to you?
