At St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Primary School, democratic principles are a clear element of the school's culture.
Through our School Council and Pupil Voice interviews facilitated by Phase leaders, students have additional opportunities to have their voices heard.
While studying Ancient Greece in Year 5, students learn about the origins of democracy; in Year 6, while studying "Monarchy and Government," they learn about the history of British democracy.
Both in the classroom and during school assemblies, the value of laws and rules is frequently emphasised.
Each class uses "Golden Points," which are given to students for obeying the rules and being exemplary role models.
Online safety conversations emphasise how crucial it is to adhere to the law at all times.
