to master efficient and legible handwriting as well as high standards for spelling, syntax, punctuation, and usage; to master mathematical ideas and techniques and be able to employ them in practical situations.
to gain enough control over oneself, tools, equipment, and instruments to be able to express oneself through music, drama, and diverse arts and crafts.

The school makes an effort to assist and encourage parents, who are the children's primary and most essential teachers.
The school has seven year groups.
Children transition to secondary schools at the end of Year 6 that have their own entrance standards.
The Education Authority recognises areas of particular need and grants the school a set amount of funding to purchase in-service.
Children who have been identified as having special needs receive assistance and support up until the point at which they meet acceptable norms.
