From the St Gregory's Catholic Primary School
A group of volunteers who are wholly committed to improving our Parish school make up the Governing Body of St. Gregory's Catholic Primary School. Our staff has access to a wide range of professional skills and knowledge, including those in HR, sales and marketing, business and project management, education, finance, and healthcare. We work very hard and put many an hour into the strategic role we play in leading the school and, by providing advice and support, act as "critical friends" to Mrs McNally who is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of St Gregory's. Each governor is given a specific area of duty for a subject or area in order for the governing body to be functional. These governors work closely with various staff members to oversee their respective areas of responsibility. We all take our roles as governors extremely seriously, and we have a development plan in place to make sure that we are all properly prepared to carry out our responsibilities. Another of our major concerns is to make sure that Catholicism permeates all element of school life, and Father Alex Austin, our parish priest, is an important member of the Governing Body. We all have the same hopes and dreams for St. Gregory's: we want it to be a world-class institution where confident and polite students flourish in a joyful, secure, and stimulating environment while being taught by knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and demanding teachers who are driven and professionally developed to their full potential. We are all really proud of what we do and thoroughly love working with Mrs. McNally and her team, despite the fact that being a governor is frequently challenging and demanding.
