Every child succeeds and believes in success at Sirius Academy. Sirius Academy offers a top-notch, engrossing, and innovative learning experience while aiming to be an inclusive, purposeful, and high-achieving educational community. One of the most important factors in ensuring that kids reach their full potential is excellent attendance. Parents or carers must make sure their children consistently attend the Academy in accordance with the Education Act (1996). For all of our kids, we aim for 100% attendance. Parents and carers are asked not to plan vacations during school hours because these would be prohibited. If you believe there may be exceptional circumstances, you must submit a written request to the Headteacher. We also ask, that as far as possible, any doctors or dental appointments are made out of Academy hours. On the first morning of your child's absence, please get in touch with the Academy between the hours of 8 and 9 a.m. if your child will be absent due to illness or another unforeseen circumstance. If we are not aware of your child's absence, an automated truancy call will be placed to your phone. Excellent attendance and timeliness are rewarded at Sirius. Students who maintain a perfect attendance record are placed into a weekly and final reward drawing. Throughout the academic year, a number of other competitions will be held. Our schedule gives students more than 26 hours of instruction per week.
