As a Specialist Language College, the four houses are named after national emblems from the four nations that make up the majority of our teaching intake.
The four houses—Toro (Spain), Adler (Germany), Fleur de Lys (France), and Hinomaru (Japan)—were chosen by the students when we decided to implement a house system.
Belonging Our goal is to make sure that they feel secure and a part of their tutor group as well as the school.
Each day, the tutor group serves as the initial point of contact for all of our students, and during tutorial time, they participate in a weekly schedule of activities aimed at fostering and growing their sense of community.
Each tutor group is affiliated with one of the four houses, and the school year is filled with competitions and other activities aimed at fostering House Spirit.
At Sir John Colfox School, assemblies are a time when we concentrate on the accomplishments of our pupils. Assemblies are a crucial moment for establishing this sense of belonging.
The tutor group's "Tutor Forum" and "Circle Time" are crucial activities that provide all children the ability to participate in discussions about school-related issues and form their own opinions. Competition The House System places a strong emphasis on competition, and all students are encouraged to represent their House throughout the year.
The school's life and the students' enjoyment are greatly enhanced by the Inter House festivities.
Our students have the ideal possibilities to grow as leaders thanks to the House System as they progress through the school and beyond.
Every one of our students is urged to assume leadership responsibilities at some point during their time in school.
For students to have a voice in issues at school that concern them, the Student Voice Network is crucial.
