Each subject area has generated information about their curriculum as well as suggestions for helping your children with their schoolwork.
The main school is organised into seven tutor groups with a total of 200 students in each group.
The curriculum is intended to be broad-based and well-balanced in order to motivate and support students as they move forward to Post-16 education and the career path of their choice.
We offer a comprehensive care, advice, and guidance programme to assist students at every stage of their academic careers, particularly around the time when decisions are made in Year 9 regarding Key Stage 4 subjects and in Key Stage 4 regarding Post 16 pathways.
Our extracurricular programme offers a wide choice of educational excursions as well as opportunities for participation in sports, drama, music, and the community.
In years 10 and 11, the majority of each student's schedule is made up of the core courses of science, math, and English language and literature.
Every student in years 10 and 11 participates in a personal, social, and health education curriculum that is taught by their tutor.
Designing Products and Eating Well for Life (includes civic engagement, health education, business, and sustainability.
We help our students in establishing strong independent learning habits, whether at home or in the school library with its sophisticated IT resources, because we feel that home study contributes significantly to their growth.
Students have expressed to us their preference for flexibility and variety in the assignments given.
As a result, assignments and projects span from research and essay writing to experiments and interviewing.
Each student has a specific home study planner and instructions on how long their studies should last.
Weekly checks and signatures from parents are requested as a demonstration of their commitment to the "home-school contract."
Study skills, university readiness, employability skills, financial literacy, and British values are the main topics of the enrichment and PSHE programme for year 12.
Students must have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or better, at least one of which must be in math, English language, or English literature; if a student lacks either of these subjects, they must retake it as part of the sixth-form curriculum.
A student will be obliged to take Core Math as an additional subject if they are taking one of the A Level Sciences or Psychology but not another Science or Math.
With the exception of those who want to pursue a Math/Further Math combo, most students will take three courses.
All A Levels are two-year programmes that do not require AS Levels.
We collaborate with Wellsway and IKB schools' WMAT Sixth Forms.
Because of this, we are able to offer a far wider range of courses. If a course is offered somewhere else but not here, you might still be able to take it.
This implies that you have the option of studying solely at one location or, if you so like, having the fantastic opportunity to utilise the programmes, tools, and opportunities at our partner institutions.
Transport is set up from door to door for you if you need to move between schools for specific classes.
