From the Safe Start Education
In Ashton under Lyne, Manchester, Safe Start is a registered Independent School and Alternative Provision for kids in Key Stage 4. Working with at-risk students who have missed a lot of school is our focus at Safe Start. Our children are unable to attend standard schools due to a variety of reasons. They require a customised curriculum, a flexible timetable, and smaller class sizes in order to access the National Curriculum. In addition, a lot of our kids come to us with little to no hope for the future because of terrible experiences they had as children, challenging situations, and perhaps even living in impoverished areas. We work collaboratively with students, families, juvenile offending teams, social workers, and other community members to provide holistic, trauma-informed education and development. Through the SafeStart programme, we concentrate on addressing the fundamental issues that our students may have missed out on as a result of traumatic life situations that disrupted their early development and led to behavioural problems. We value diversity, openness, and acceptance in our pursuit of excellence. We are aware that a school visit is a crucial part of the application process for colleges. This little video aims to provide you an overview of the classrooms, resources, and teaching strategies used at the SafeStart School.
