Based on the Isle of Wight just off the south coast of England (one of the warmest locations in the UK), Ryde School is a Round Square and IB World School, an island school with a global outlook. The importance of community sits at the heart of the School and pupils are expected to be true to the School values of ambition, responsibility, courage and respect. Pupils work hard and are challenged to make the most of their talents and the opportunities in front of them.
Boarding is in two beautifully appointed boarding houses in the School grounds in Ryde. Millfield, for boys and girls in Years 6 to 10 and Centenary, for Year 11 and Sixth Form.
Ryde School exam results are strong for GCSE and Sixth Form exams and Sixth Form students can choose to study for A Levels, the IB Career-related Programme or the IB Diploma. Pupils achieve places at top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and other leading institutions and pupils apply for a broad range of courses. Scholarships and bursaries are available to apply for entry for Years 7, 9 and the Sixth Form.
Pupils benefit from an extensive range of excellent resources including life skills taught outside the classroom. In addition to the extensive academic, creative arts and sporting programme, the location of Ryde School enables a full extracurricular programme including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and obviously superb sailing opportunities. A new cookery school and performing arts centre have recently been opened.
