I would like to extend a warm welcome to you on our website on behalf of the students, teachers, and governors at Riverside School. You are of course also welcome to come and see us in person where you will find a happy, caring and effective learning environment for pupils who face a variety of challenges in their daily life. We currently support children aged 5 to 18 years who will typically have a wide variety of learning difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions and medical or sensory impairments that present a barrier to their learning. However, we recently modified our designation to include students with severe and complex learning disabilities as well as those with significant and varied needs. To help provide this provision we have moved into a new seven classroom extension that includes a Hydrotherapy pool, a new hall, gym, sensory room, small group rooms and office spaces. Our current school building is being renovated, and once it is done, our age range will increase to include students from 2 to 19 years old. I hope you find our website to be educational and that it provides you with some insight into the goals we have for the learning of all of our kids. If you have any questions about the school, would like to visit or simply have suggestions about how we can improve the website, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
