From the Pitmaston Primary School
At Pitmaston, we consider it everyone's duty to protect others.
Mrs. Lynda Townsend, the governor in charge of protecting children, is responsible.
Any form of abuse towards a kid is entirely unacceptable in the eyes of Pitmaston Primary School.
We are aware of our obligation to protect the wellbeing of all children.
We place a high priority on providing early intervention support for social, emotional, and mental health difficulties as a Thrive School.
Children with these needs receive specialised care from qualified professionals as well as from other outside organisations like our play therapist, the school councillor, and CAMH's CAST.
These bolster the youngsters' knowledge of personal safety measures.
We have seven key staff members at our school who have all completed Mental Health First Aid training. They help staff recognise the warning signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, offer nonjudgmental support and reassurance, and direct the child or adult to seek any professional help they may need to recover.
We actively collaborate with our Targeted Family Support Worker to examine programmes that can be implemented in schools to assist students in protecting themselves, including programmes like the Protective Behaviours Course.
The Family Support Worker at our school is Kelethe Pusharski.
On Tuesdays from 8:45 to 9:15, Kelethe hosts drop-ins for all parents and provides specialised assistance as needed.
