Our goal is to become a community-wide school. Whatever their skills and experience, students will be given the assistance they need to succeed. They will graduate prepared to move on to higher education and beyond and with an understanding of their place in the local, national, and international communities. A sense of pride, high standards, equality, inclusivity and acceptance of diversity will be forged through a wide range of learning opportunities not limited to the classroom or school buildings. Teachers will also continue to learn and to develop their own skills, so that the academy always develops and continues to move forward and excellence in teaching and learning remain our priority. Everyone will be able to see the mutual respect of lifelong learning in a nurturing, sharing, and helpful society. In order to fulfil Ormiston's purpose to become the Trust that makes the most difference both inside and beyond the classroom, the school is devoted to collaborating with families. Students will continue to love studying, develop new insights, and find new opportunities in the workforce with the support of local businesses and universities. We take great pride in serving as the community's local school. We are known for assisting students and their families in realising their potential while creating the sense of belonging that makes Ilkeston so unique and strong.
