From the North Cambridge Academy
Being the Principal of North Cambridge Academy makes me feel really honoured, and since I joined the senior leadership team in 2013, I've watched the Academy continue to flourish. We moved into a brand new 10 million school building in 2015 which affords pupils a world class learning environment and our outstanding teachers are committed to helping each pupil reach their potential. In 2015 and 2018, the Academy received two "Good" ratings from Ofsted, with "Outstanding" ratings for leadership. Excellent student progress has been attained, and the pastoral system and curriculum have undergone radical adjustment. Everyone at North Cambridge Academy believes in providing all pupils with exciting, memorable experiences to inspire their enthusiasm and we look to continually extend the boundaries of learning. We take pride in our solid relationships with parents and the neighbourhood community, as well as the distinctive collaborations we have forged in academia, industry, and sports. The Stephen Perse Foundation have been working closely with us, collaborating on academic projects as well as securing post 16 opportunities, which has seen pupils in our year 11 cohort admitted on full scholarships to their prestigious sixth form college. We have created active and rewarding partnerships with many cultural and corporate organisations including Kettles Yard, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge University Botanical Gardens, The British Army, Form the Future, Inspiring the Future and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme. Strong partnerships have been realised with Norwich City FC, Cambridge Gymnastics Academy, Anglia Ruskin University and Cambridge Tennis Academy with pupils benefiting from specialised sports coaching and state of the art facilities available here on site at North Cambridge Academy. We are a welcoming and caring neighbourhood where each child is well-known.
