From the School
In response to the fast development of Orpington and Petts Wood over the preceding forty years, our school was founded in September 1954 as Orpington Grammar School for Girls.
We moved into the current location as a three-form entry school on September 23, 1957, after purchasing the property in 1954.
Over the past 60 years, our school has experienced significant growth, and to accommodate our burgeoning student body, our buildings have been enlarged.
Our current maximum capacity was attained in 2017 with six modes of entrance for each year group.
At this point, Pheonix House joined the already existing Nightingale, Wren, Swift, Falcon, and Griffin houses as our new house.
We take great pride in our school's outstanding academic performance.
All of our students are urged to develop their resiliency and strike a balance between their academic work and extracurricular activities like sport, music, and culture.
The greatest means to meet the requirements of exceptionally gifted kids through the formal curriculum and beyond are offered by Newstead, which enjoys national and international acclaim for doing so.
All of the pupils at Newstead Wood School have access to wonderful opportunities thanks to the school's unique setting.
We began the next chapter of our lives in 2017 when we joined United Learning, and we are eager to collaborate with some of the top schools in the nation as we 'grow in strength'!
