You may obtain more information about The Marches School's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services below. There is a plethora of information about groups, events, organisations, and services that can assist professionals and parents in Shropshire in the Local Authority Local Offer, which can be found here. The Mainwaring Hub serves as the headquarters for The Marches School's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) assistance. The Mainwaring Hub is a building within the school that strives to encourage inclusiveness and eliminate the learning obstacles that many pupils face. In order to alleviate any concerns about "big schools," young people can use this facility during social hours before school, during break, and during lunch. The idea behind the Hub is to create an environment which is more relaxing and calm than a regular classroom, helping students to feel at ease and promoting learning confidence in mainstream lessons through support and encouragement. The Hub is also the base for many interventions including literacy, numeracy, social skills, bush craft, mentoring and emotional support and it is also there for those who just want a general chat with a cup of tea! Along with a group of teaching assistants, the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) is housed at the Mainwaring Hub and available to support and assist students at the school with their academic and social growth. Mrs. Holdsworth is the SEN coordinator at Marches School. She can be reached at 01691 664429 or via email at [email protected].
