The City of York Council is responsible for maintaining the coed Lord Deramore's School. As a result of a long-standing relationship with the Deramore Family, it has voluntary controlled status. Still serving as a Foundation Governor is a member of our family. The school served the Heslington neighbourhood in its previous structure for more than 160 years, and before that, since 1795, in the old school house across the street. We are happy to say that in the spring of 2017 we moved into our new school. Our tradition and history have followed us into a cutting-edge, twenty-first-century learning environment. Our school's community is becoming more diverse as the adjacent University of York grows and welcomes students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Being the primary school in the City of York with the greatest diversity of cultures makes us proud.
