SEN
From the School
Little Ilford School, a thriving 11–16 mixed-cultural secondary school with 9 forms of entry located in the London Borough of Newham, was founded in 1957. We are a successful school, and Ofsted rated us as exceptional during their most recent inspection in 2012. We seek to be an outward-looking institution that works closely with our community and are a proud, diverse, and joyful institution that has a great reputation. We have a diverse population with a strong sense of community that values respect, care, and cooperation. We have very high aspirations for the students whatever their personal or social challenges; we systematically remove all barriers to learning to ensure that all of our students can fulfil their potential and leave us as fully active citizens of the Manor Park community. When they leave LIS in Year 11, most of our students have achieved levels that are on par with or even higher than those set by the government; they also progress at rates that are significantly higher than those set by the government. All of our pupils are expected to do well. By providing all students with opportunity for success in the curriculum and through high-quality learning and instruction, we hope to ensure that our students continue to make progress at even higher rates.
