The variety of all students, families, and the larger school community is valued at Kirkby School.
We acknowledge that the United Kingdom is a multi-cultural and multi-religious society that is constantly developing, and our curriculum is created to help students get a better understanding of the world in which they live.
We achieve this by adopting a global perspective on education and presenting themes that allow our students to learn about, gain respect for, and comprehend individuals of all nationalities and religious beliefs.
Our school's Christian values of love, peace, kindness, and patience are combined with the virtues of resilience, ambition, and possibility, life skills and enterprise, knowledge and understanding of the world, and personal, social, and emotional awareness to achieve this.
All that we do at our school represents British ideals.
We promote individuality, creativity, open-mindedness, independence, and respect for oneself and others in our school, our neighbourhood, and the larger community.
In carrying out their duties, schools are required by section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 to "due regard to the need to prevent persons from being recruited into terrorism."
The Prevent responsibility is the name of this obligation.
By emphasising essential British values, our approach helps students resist being radicalised and empowers them to oppose extreme viewpoints.
It is crucial to emphasise that the Prevent duty is not meant to prohibit students from discussing contentious topics.
Instead, at Kirkby School, we offer a secure environment where students can investigate ideas, comprehend the dangers of terrorism, and gain the information and skills necessary to refute extremist claims.
The idea of democracy is included in the curriculum as well as at special days and group worship.
Every school day is filled with consistent reminders of the value of laws and regulations, whether they apply to the class through class rules, the school, or the nation.
In the classroom, during communal worship, and on the playground, teachers and other adults constantly assist students in recognising right from wrong.
Students are taught that laws regulate and protect us and are encouraged to respect and revere the law.
Kirkby Malzeard CE Primary welcomes visits from law enforcement, the fire department, ambulance, and other governmental agencies.
We created a reward system that is constantly used across the school to encourage and promote excellent behaviour, a happy attitude, and high levels of performance.
Children receive rewards not only for academic success but also for good behaviour and upholding our school's values.
Students are urged to accept accountability for their actions.
Any sort of unkindness is confronted and dealt with in the school, which has a strong anti-bullying culture ingrained in it.
The school hosts an annual anti-bullying week every year, which concludes with a special assembly to which parents are invited.
The great majority of students choose to take on a role in school; these roles are applied for.
Education, respect, and responsibility are highly valued by all members of our school community thanks to a strong dedication to values.
Christian Values for Life, which are the cornerstone of how we want everyone to live their lives at our school, serve as the foundation for Collective Worship.
They receive assistance in developing a knowledge of and respect for both their own and other people's cultures and ways of life.
Learning in RE and PSHE has been implemented after collective worship and conversations about prejudices and bullying that is motivated by prejudice.
