School Info

Higham Lane School is a top rated, Secondary, Co-Ed school located in Warwickshire, West Midlands.

It has 1418 students from age 11-18 yr with a student-teacher ratio of 16 : 1.

This school rated Outstanding by recent Ofsted inspection.

From the School
With over 1400 pupils enrolled, Higham Lane School is a successful 11–18 Comprehensive Academy and Aspiring Teaching School located on a picturesque setting to the northeast of Nuneaton, on the Warwickshire–Leicestershire border.
Ofsted rates the school as outstanding.
Success in all spheres is regarded equally, including artistic, academic, social, cultural, athletic, and intellectual achievement.
We take great delight in achieving both high achievement and high attainment for our pupils because we are steadfastly committed to ensuring that all of the young people in our care make good academic progress.
Students excelled in their performance during the 2018 GCSE exams.
The highest grades—Grades 9–7/A*–A—represented one-fourth of all GCSE grades given. The Department for Education (DfE) has not yet formally validated the Development 8 statistic (a Government indicator of pupils' progress) for this cohort, but our estimations are very encouraging.
According to the Department for Education's School Performance statistics, Higham Lane outperforms the majority of the schools we used for statistical comparison.
In 2016 we were ranked eighth out of 51 comparable schools, while in 2017 we were eighth out of 55 comparable schools.
The vast majority of our students continue their education at the post-secondary level, and we are happy to have opened our own Sixth Form in September 2016. In August 2018, our first group of post-secondary students received impressive results, with 25% of their grades being A*-A and 52% being A*-B. This shows very high accomplishment, since many students meet the prerequisites for admission to the best universities in the UK.
We are very thrilled that 99% of our pupils passed their A-level exams.
With many other nearby secondary and primary schools, we have created the Higham Lane School Partnership. We are excited that we just received money to support us in becoming a teaching school.
Initial Teacher Training, ongoing professional development, leadership development, and school-to-school support will be our main areas of focus.
Being a teaching school will give our employees more chances to improve their leadership and teaching abilities.
Higham Lane School is a dynamic community that is proud of its history and optimistic about the future. It is more than just a place to go to work.
