According to the plaque over the ancient main door, the current structure was constructed in 1833. According to this, it was a "National School," meaning the Church of England created it to provide education for nearby children. On April 27, 1846, the church established its first day school, with Mr. William Kenyon serving as the first teacher. The Day School had 160 students enrolled by 1854, which led to the institution's reconstruction in 1859. The Accrington Local Education Authority adopted the school in 1902, and in 1946 it became voluntary aided (after the Education Act of 1944). Through the education we provide, we hope to equip young people with not just the skills they need to succeed in the modern world but also the attitudes, values, and personality traits that will help them thrive in it. The education we provide is not only academic. It must help our children realise their God-given potential, their special role in the world, and that without them, the world would be a less fulfilling place. Our entry number is twelve. Visitors to the school quickly notice the unique family atmosphere, and parents are urged to participate in school activities. Green Haworth C of E Primary School is a unique building that incorporates St. Clement's Parish Church (in the school library) and is set amongst the green hills of Lancashire overlooking Accrington.
