The finest experience I've had at this school was travelling to Belgium and France with two staff members, another student, and other students. We all enjoyed ourselves, got up at six most mornings, and occasionally played a game of rugby before breakfast. We travelled to Belgium to learn more about World War I, and while visiting Tyne Cot it was extremely terrible to see all the gravestones of the fallen, seeing all the names of the soldiers whose bodies were never found inscribed on the Menin Gate in Ypres was much worse. We had the opportunity to go into the trenches as well, giving us a more accurate mental picture of what life was like during World War One. I would advocate for anyone—student or parent—to have this experience. It is more than a trip or vacation; it is an experience. I'm happy the school accepted me. I consider it a great blessing that the school organised a trip for me to take a coach and then travel through the Channel Tunnel so I could travel with them and fulfil my vow even though I have a phobia of flying.
