Children's rights are prioritised in UK schools thanks to the Rights Respecting Schools Award. Unicef collaborates with UK schools to develop learning environments that are exciting, safe, and supportive of children's development. Giving kids the best chance to live happy, healthy lives and become responsible, engaged citizens, the Rights Respecting Schools Award infuses these ideals into school life on a daily basis. We are on a mission to fully respect human rights using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as our guide. We presently hold the Bronze: Rights Committed designation and are trying to earn Silver: Rights Aware. We presently have a steering group composed of students, staff, governors, and student ambassadors who make significant contributions to the conversation about expanding our school in terms of the award and creating entire school charters. We have a new concept called "right of the fortnight," which is discussed in the newsletter and the subject of weekly assemblies.
