Exmouth Post-16, and in particular the students who make it such a fantastic place to learn, are two things of which we are incredibly proud. Exmouth Post-16 has a totally different philosophy than the main college, despite sharing the same core values of excellent teaching, superior pastoral care, and maximising each student's potential for a meaningful career and a high quality of life. We put a lot more focus on working with pupils one-on-one and in smaller groups, fostering their independence, and treating them with much more maturity. The effectiveness and popularity of our Post-16 are centred on getting to know children extremely well, spotting early intervention needs, and ensuring that every student is supported, which we can do more efficiently because the pastoral team and teachers are familiar with each student. The benefit of our programme is that we are small enough to get to know each student personally while still offering a tremendously comprehensive curriculum that caters to the needs of the great majority of students. Our statistics demonstrate the effectiveness of this strategy, and we consistently rank among the top post-16 educational institutions in the county, with a high percentage of graduates going on to careers in the workforce, apprenticeships, and prestigious universities like Russell Group and Oxbridge.
