I hope you enjoy using and learning from our new school website, which I welcome you to with great pleasure. The staff, governors, and I hope to communicate with our school families primarily through our school website. A four-form entry junior school in Milton Keynes, Emerson Valley School serves a community with a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Our aim is to create a positive climate for learning across the school, where relationship between teachers and pupils and their peers are cordial, courteous and purposeful. Our top objective is educating students to become confident, successful young adults who can contribute positively to their larger community. We acknowledge the notion that we have an uncertain future and that the next generation need to be flexible learners who are good team-players, resilient in the face of change and have a moral purpose to make the world a better place not only for them but for the wider society. We place high emphasis on reading, writing, mathematics, science and IT, however we are committed to developing music, sports, drama as well as art and design in order to prepare our pupils for future employment. We support fostering each person's unique skills and recognising achievement in all facets of school life. We are very conscious that children learn most effectively when there is a close partnership between home and school and are working hard towards building this partnership with our school families. Although we might not always get it right, we rely on our school families to help us develop. We hope you enjoy looking through our school website and that it provides you with a glimpse into what we do here at EVS.
