Co-educational Community Comprehensive High School for students in grades 11 through 16, The Elton High School. The school's brand-new structure, which opened in September 2016, has room for about 1000 kids. The modern, large, three-story facility that houses the new school is equipped with fully equipped science laboratories and technology facilities to suit the demands of the modern curriculum. Excellent physical education facilities include a sizable sports hall and activity studio. The school has a well-equipped base for student support services, including SEN support, counselling, and post-16 advice and support, as well as its own multi-media Learning Resource Center. The school has a large waiting list and serves the nearby catchment areas of Walshaw, Elton, and North Bury. We have a steady roll, and 200 people are admitted each year. As a result of our reputation for high academic achievement and care and support standards, parental preferences are consistently high.
