Golden Values like "Respect" have been a focal point of our school's ethos and behaviour policy, and students have participated in debates and assemblies on what this means and how it is demonstrated.
Respect for others is encouraged by these assemblies, PSHCE courses, and the Golden Values, and it is reinforced by our behaviour rules and activities on the playground, in the classroom, when learning skills, and while playing sports.
The students are aware of the need of treating others with respect, regardless of any differences we may have.
Respect, one of our guiding principles, ensures tolerance for people who practise other faiths and ideologies.
This is accomplished through giving students opportunities to experience cultural variety and by helping them better comprehend their place in a diverse society.
Lessons in RE and PSHCE have been used to supplement and follow up on assemblies and discussions about prejudices and bullying that is motivated by prejudice.
To improve instruction in classes and throughout the school, people of all faiths and beliefs are urged to share their expertise. Examples include staff members or parents addressing school assemblies about their religion.
The study of beliefs, traditions, and rituals will take place across the curriculum, and our school routinely welcomes people of many religions to deepen and broaden knowledge.
