From the Woodlands School
In the Local Authority of Harrow, there is a primary maintained special school called Woodlands that serves 135 students with a variety of severe and significant learning challenges between the ages of 3 and 11. These include severe developmental delays, complex medical disorders, physical and mobility issues, and severe autism. In addition to our superb purpose-built facilities, we also have a highly skilled, energetic, and dedicated workforce. With this combination, we are able to offer our students the specialised tailored programmes they need. Along with teaching and classroom support staff, the school is supported by a multi-agency team of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy colleagues, teachers for pupils with vision and hearing impairments and nursing staff. The success of the school has been largely attributed to the collaboration of all experts. Interventions for students are thoughtfully planned to guarantee that every student at least makes good progress. We put a lot of effort into making sure that every one of our students reaches their full academic, social, emotional, and personal potential. The LA's requests for further growth and the rise in parental enrollment requests are proof that the school is recognised as a top educational option. Woodlands School supports the local community in a number of ways including delivering training to staff in local schools, parents and other professionals as well as providing outreach support to local schools by teachers with specific skills in SEN. We have put together an Impact Presentation to highlight the aspects of our work for which we are most proud. The following details are provided in the hopes that they may help you learn more about our school. However, nothing can replace a trip to the school in person. We are eager to tour you around the school and address any questions you may have.
